Once upon a time in a galaxy far... no wait, that's another story...
The Bard's Tale 2005 has transported me to another time and place when we used to sit around a table and roll the dice to score damage on the evil monster from the nether planes who was trying to take over our world (and snag the princess into the bargain).
All the excitement of role playing with a "redo" thrown in when you just couldn't stop yourself from hacking long enough to save your life! And the allies are great - much more versatile than my live buddies who, although talented, sometimes blundered into each other or dropped their swords at the most inconvenient times.
I haven't made it far yet - just to the Firbolg Mines, but I'm hooked - can't quit till I win through to the end. I have seen a few comments about the lack of microcontrol and not being able to pick and choose as freely as one might want, but I am thrilled to find a real RPG that looks this great and energizes my evenings.
Now... if I could just get past that dang magic barrier...
InXile 4EVER!
