Skyrim 'not as large a leap' as Oblivion because of IV's tech jump

Bethesda's Todd Howard, director of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has said it's "hard to say" if the latest RPG is a leap like Oblivion was for the series.

He says "it's close," but Howard doesn't know if he'd say "it's as large a leap" simply because the tech gap between Morrowind and Oblivion "was greater."

It seems that the UK will be getting the special 5th Anniversary Edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, as rumored last July. Previously, the special edition was released in North America in June.

It seems North American gamers won't be the only ones to get a chance to purchase the upcoming Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition, which was released in the US earlier this month.

Bethesda purchases to bolster "internal development capacity"

Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of marketing and PR, says they've been acquiring studios to beef up their internal capacity for videogame projects - that's the goal.

They've also been offering publishing deals with developers too. They "look to find and work with" studios that "share common" philosophy with Bethesda.
