Oh look some DLC ambushing us for our shinies. Wait! This content pack is free. Creative Assembly is releasing the Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack for Total War: Rome II at no cost to us - delightful.

No cost whatsoever... until October 29th. The Royal Scythians, Roxolani and Massagetae now become playable factions. Log into Steam and just tell the DLC to 'install' and its yours forever.

Creative Assembly have now released Patch 5 for Total War: Rome II, which includes full Steam Workshop support and a new faction for free: the Seleucid Empire. Fixes across "pretty much every part of the game."

There's more Campaign Map optimisation, with better framerates when fog-of-war recedes. Diplomacy should be stronger to with AI now taking personality, threat etc. seriously.

Creative Assembly have gone live with Patch 4 for Total War: Rome II, giving AI a major boot up their collective rear end when it comes to building, food management, army creation, research and more.

There are also "further tweaks and improvements" to diplomacy, missiles, melee units "and much more." To take full advantage of all these patch changes it's best to restart campaigns.

The third full patch for Total War: Rome II is now live and available via Steam for would-be Emperor's and Barbarian Kings. It features "over 140 technical, gameplay, balancing and usability" enhancements.

Among them are "significant improvements" to multiplayer campaign speed, a kick to frame rates for all specs, more campaign optimisations, and even a desktop icon touch-up.

Creative Assembly posts Patch 2 Beta changelog for Total War: Rome II [UPDATE]

As of Friday last week the Patch 2 entered Beta testing for Total War: Rome II. The official wiki for the RTS series details the current changelog, with the Campaign Map and 'AI turn time' high on the list.

Right now late games turning into sieges within PC CPUs as turn movements and actions take an age to run through. There are fixes and tweaks to tactical AI as well.

UPDATE: Patch 2 is now officially live via Steam for automatic update. Patch 3 "enters beta testing soon," and targets battles and specific hardware setups.
