In the “Rise of the Samurai” campaign, players take on a brand new and independent campaign for Total War: SHOGUN 2 set in 12th century Japan. Set 400 years before the dramatic civil war depicted in Total War: SHOGUN 2, the “Rise of The Samurai” campaign is based on the Gempei War, a conflict between six legendary clans of the Taira, Minamoto and Fujiwara families. It culminated in the first Shogunate, and the rise of the Samurai as the ruling class.

| A complete bundle of all Total War: Shogun 2 is coming to retail this March 5th as publisher SEGA announces the Gold Edition, which includes Rise of The Samurai and Fall of The Samurai expansions. Interestingly the North American Gold Edition seems to only include the three titles, whereas Europe and Australia get all the released DLC as well, excluding the Blood pack. |

| SEGA and Creative Assembly have issued the latest patch for Total War: Shogun 2 and one of its chief highlights will be the assault the dev team took to online campaign desync troubles. Should you still get desynchronisation then at least error messages have "been localised" to French, and other lingos. Also touched up are those lighting shaders for better "lighting in battles". |
