When Blizzard released Warcraft III, they were putting out what turned out to be a truly great game.
I never played Warcraft, but played my way through Warcraft II and the expansions, and so was definitely looking foward to Warcraft III. It was no disappointment. The improvements in graphics were great, and the plot really kept you moving through the game. Blizzard even made sure that you weren't stuck with the old "build a base again" scenario all the time, with many levels involving the need to make do with just a small number of troops. Definitely recommended, and well worth while to any fan of RTS games.
