As promised months ago, inExile has announced on the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter that the original Wasteland is close to getting its re-release on Steam and Good Old Games.

The latest Kickstarter update from inXile Entertainment for Wasteland 2 is all about the game world and specifically how Rangers go about exploring it. The world map consists of settlements, sites and resources.

They've taken a Mount & Blade/Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir approach to world exploration, where we traverse a 3D overworld. There's plenty of trouble lurking.

Developer inXile Entertainment has spilled their guts on the various attributes and skills we'll be utilising for our Rangers in Wasteland 2. From strength, intelligence, luck, to charisma and 'MAXCON'.

There are a slew of combat, information/knowledge and general skills to wield in our mighty RPG arsenal. Two new screens have been posted and the beta is due later this month.

Vlambeer's Wasteland Kings renamed 'Nuclear Throne' after inXile concerns

Wasteland Kings is no more as it becomes Nuclear Throne, announces Dutch indie Vlambeer. They were contacted by Wasteland 2 developer inXile Entertainment who worried "possible brand confusion".

Vlambeer are thankful their first contact with inXile "was by a normal employee, and not a lawyer." They got a "short, amicable" email that led to a Skype chat on the name.

Wasteland 2's 18 minute Prison Level gameplay walkthrough

Developer inXile Entertainment is near feature complete status for Wasteland 2, but for now they've decided to treat us with a Prison Level gameplay walkthrough. This prison is the original home to the Rangers.

The studio continues to run a Late Backer store for those still interested in funding the game's development, as well as grabbing some sweet Wasteland swag.
