ETF is a port of the mod Q3F for Quake 3 Arena and is based off the Team
Fortress concept. 10 unique classes and a ton of very cool weapons along with
some killer maps make up ETF. The game will offer many game types like CTF,
Reverse CTF, Single Flag, Capture & Hold, Assault, King of the Hill and Duel.

There is a lot of the original fortess maps from forts to bases to well as well as many other new offical and 3rd party maps to play.

Q. Why the ET engine?
A. Why not? ET is a free game so this gives us the opportunity to distribute our game to a much larger audience.

Q. Do I need RTCW to play ETF?
A. No you do not need Return To Castle Wolfenstein to play ETF.

Q. Will ETF run on my pc?
A. If you can run Enemy Territory then you can run ETF. The recommended minimum system specs to run ETF are listed below.
CPU: 900mhz
Ram: 512
Video: 32mb 3d card

If you are a new player trying out this fantastic game .. then dont give up after the first attempt .. things may seem complicated and weird .. wtf why are there players flying round the map .. why is that guy shouting at me .. why why why WHY!!!!

A few things in general .. firstly ETF has evolved to become a game of fast gameplay .. when i tried to play quake 1 deathmatch the other day it was soo fast it freaked me out.

TFC players will no doubt have to adapt players from QWTF or Q3F may have a better chance .. everyone else its a very steep learning curve but worth it ..

Its a free game with a solid community base .. we just need new faces to expand on it.

There are public servers not really frequented during the day you may find the odd one .. but at night Railbait should be also Kindergarten or Plusnet or M public server .. you will proberbly see Kgather or Spontanetf or Matsi/Playtrix servers which have passwords ..

These are gather/pickup games which you join the irc channel either #kgather,#spontanetf or the #thematsi then you add to the topic when the topic fills up a server ip and password will be messaged to you then all the players join server .. there are two team captains which are either chosen bu the bot in irc or ppl wish to be a capt and tell the bot by a command.

On the server everyone spectates as the two captains pick a player at a time .. the game is basically a 8v8 style ctf depending on how many are added with 4 offence and 4 defence .. the captain will tell you your position and role in the team for the map which has been chosen.

If there are say 8 people added then the game can start with a 4v4 off vs def game each team plays both offence and defence the server can play either that style or a full normal game.

YOU DO NEED TO HAVE PLENTY OF PUBLIC/SERVER PRACTICE AS GATHER /PICKUP GAMES ARE HIGHLY FAST AND HARDCORE
