World in Conflict, review by Dagoneto
World in conflict is a beautiful mix of strategy fps & rts, the clean multiplayer and fast action of a good fps, the unit management, micro and multitasking of rts and the requirement for more than just surface thought of strategy games :D
New players, and old bad ones can be forgiven for thinking it's just a brawl - as it's quite possible to play like this and feel like you're achieving something against people who do the same. Experienced players tho will tell you anything but - units gain experience based on damage output, the more they kill the better they get, obviously the fact that all experienced players strive to get those experienced units belies the idea that there's nothing but a whirlpool of death, an insult thrown at every game by every player who can't be bothered to learn intricacies.
Unit, role and faction balance is frankly amazing, the physics and interaction is not only beautiful but impacts on the game in every way imaginable, different modes allow for a great breadth of gameplay choices.
Fanboi? hell yeah.
