They still don't show the base where you have the US board and decide on where to go on missions.

I would have preferred a typical 50's sci-fi like this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045917/ with no extra-dimensional or psionic stuff. But XCOM never disappointed me... well, It was Microprose after all!
