Guitar Hero 4 to rip off Rock Band, looking for international love

Who said that artists steal? Whoever it was probably wasn't talking about Activision, who's pretty close to stealing Harmonix' idea for making a band game out of the Guitar Hero-styled play. Which is interesting, because it still is Guitar Hero. Hint hint.

Pure coming Sept 26th on consoles, PC version left in the dark

Disney Interactive Studios has confirmed that its off-road racing title Pure will be available at retail stores on September 26th, 2008.

This release date only applies to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, the PC version has been left in the dark with no release date set.

EA announces UK Release Date for Rock Band

EA, Harmonix and MTV Games confirmed that Rock Band's European tour will be hitting the UK this spring. The UK release of Rock Band will have an exclusive launch window on the Xbox 360, beginning on May 23. Rock Band will be available for additional platforms later this summer.

We've all been wondering how much Rock Band is going to cost in the UK, many believe that it'll be over £100, although EA has made no official announcement about a price point.

But an online shop called Scan.co.uk believes that the complete Game, which includes Fender Stratocaster Guitar/ Drum + Sticks Controllers & Microphone, will cost £158.61 Inc VAT. That's what they've got listed.

Or specifically, that 72% played a game. Played a game? Well now, that means 72% of people are just so lucky, aren't they?

No, really, we know that it's anyone who's had an internet connection has played an internet game, whether they know it or not. Then again, if 72% know it, that means over 200 million Americans admit to having played some videogame in one way or another.

Unrest at Sierra over Activision merger

It all appears to be kicking off at Sierra, one of the publishing labels of Vivendi Games'. It's all down to unrest in the company that all of its titles will have to be pitched to the head honcho's at Activision (and obviously they don't like that!).

BBFC has awarded the much controversial 'Manhunt 2' an 18 rating

The British Board of Film Classification at first refused to give the game a rating because they believe it contained material too harmful for the public. However after a lengthy appeals process Rockstar Game's Manhunt 2 will now be able to go on sale in the UK.

The Video Appeals Committee is an independent body which deliver a four-to-three verdict that the BBFC must give the game a certificate for sale.

GT5 Prologue crosses the finish line on March 27 in Europe on PSN

That's 3 weeks a head of the US release. The day after on March 28 will see the Blu-ray version with both carrying a £24.99 tag, unless you choose the PS3 bundle priced at £299 also available on March 28.

Oddly the downloadable version isn't any cheaper than getting it on disc, but at least the EU version carries more content that its Japanese counterpart.

Nintendo Kyoto the best game developer in the world

According to this, Nintendo's Kyoto division has been voted the best developer in the world. Responsible for such blockbusters as Wii Play, Wii Sports, and two Brain Age games, the Japanese developer has been given this prestigious award by Think Services' Game Developer magazine and Game Developer Research division.
