Kane & Lynch 2 has gamer as Lynch, set in Shanghai, online co-op

Some more details of Kane & Lynch 2 have escaped Square Enix, they own Eidos don't forget, and so we now know we play as Lynch.

It also appears to be set in Shanghai, the "perfect playground for expat criminals" to make huge money. It will support online co-op play.

Capcom: Dark Void movie to be handled by star Brad Pitt's Plan B

Plan B Entertainment, that's Brad Pitt's production company, will be dealing with all that Hollywood silver-screen stuff for Dark Void.

This is Capcom's latest IP which is due out next year on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It's all sci-fi with aliens, jetpacks and the Bermuda triangle.

Over on NeoGAF, a posted who claims to be an ex-Pandemic says it was all the studio managements fault, they were "given free reign".

Execs "dropped the ball" they continued, with the studio upkeep high but recent products "weren't up to snuff". The Saboteur 'sent to die' by EA.

IO Interactive confirmed today that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC with a release in 2010.

Ubisoft unveil Uplay, a cross-platform system for in-game rewards

Assassin's Creed II is the first Ubi title to feature Uplay support, which means actions and accomplishments earn "Win Units" to be spent.

It's like a micro-transaction shop but the points are earned from playing the games, which can then be used to buy "exclusive in-game content".

While it's available in Japan on PS3 already, From Software's retro-style 3D Dot Game Heroes is to arrive on US shores next year in May.

Impatient Europeans can of course import the title, thanks to region-free. The game is a loving nod to great action-adventures out there.

Developer Gearbox Software has said how they could have made a Blade Runner game, but frankly it would cost huge and paid little.

Boss Randy Pitchford said "that one failed" business wise, they'd likely spend around $25m developing it but wouldn't "make it back."

It's either twitter or job ads that mostly blab game secrets these days. A job listing for Sucker Punch hints at multiplayer for the sequel.

It's for their "forthcoming AAA title," which voice actor David Sullivan has already twittered, more or less, as the electric inFamous 2.

Konami Entertainment has announced that it will release the classic PSone version of Metal Gear Solid via the PlayStation Network on November 19th, priced £7.99.

Hailed as an all-time classic and one of the most influential video games of modern times, Metal Gear Solid marked the series’ first move into a fully 3D play area, and established Hideo Kojima as an iconic talent.

The completely over-the-top antics of Just Cause 2 have just gotten sweeter for PS3 gamers, because they can share those antics.

Developer Avalanche has included an auto-record for the last 30 seconds, or manual 10 minute captures - all can upload to YouTube.

Rockstar's Dan Houser has given the first official admission of Grand Theft Auto V in the works, saying they'll choose a city first before anything.

Once the urban star is cast, "then the characters" get brought in. Houser reveals he'll be co-writing a whopping script of around 1000 pages.

Konami have big plans and "very high hopes" for Saw the videogame, they want it seen as "a vital part of the Saw saga," like the films are.

Actor Tobin Bell, who stars in the movies, "adds a level of authenticity" along with the deadly and "suitably grisly" puzzles. It's out Nov. 20th.

Ubisoft are turning up the racy affairs with Assassin's Creed 2, offering if you will some hot coffee of its own. Gamers can play a mini-game.

This mini-game is one of "seduction" according to ESRB ratings, which includes buttons for kissing and dress removal - you scamp Ezio.

Music composer Shawn Lee, who worked with Rockstar on the Bully game, has revealed in an interview with The Gaming Liberty that Bully 2 will be coming in the not so distant future.

"Yes. It looks like I will be doing the soundtrack for Bully 2 in the not so distant future..."
said Lee.

Dante's Inferno Demo launches in December

Visceral Games has announced that a demo for Dante's Inferno will be released in December. The demo includes the entire opening level and will allow gamers to get an early taste of the game before it releases on February 12, 2010.

The 'Gates of Hell' demo will introduce players to the game's hero, epic story and intense action gameplay, tracing Dante's battles from the surface all the way to the Gates of Hell. Players will experience fast-paced hack-n-slash combat as they fend off waves of enemies before taking on the ultimate battle against Death. After defeating this boss, Dante will be armed with Death's scythe, a powerful holy cross, and will be ready to tear open the Gates of Hell. The demo also features two stunning cinematic movies made by Blur, the award-winning visual effects, animation and design studio.

A CG trailer teases a game project from developer Grin Barcelona, showing a soldier someplace snowy before his ninja demise.

At least it hinted at some kind of ninja related death. In any case the studio was closed this year, so there's no snowy ninja game coming.

No Dedicated Server Support for Rage?

Following on from the Modern Warfare 2 trend, id Software co-founder and technical wiz John Carmack has confirmed that the developer doesn't plan to add dedicated server support for the multiplayer component of Rage.

"It's not cast in stone yet, but at this point no, we don’t think we will have dedicated servers," said Carmack, talking to Variety.
