EA releases first American McGee's Alice trailer, reveals release date

EA has released a new trailer for the remake of American McGee's Alice, and it looks very creepy indeed.

This one is for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, but it won't be released until 2011.

Telltale is working on something that will "blow everybody's mind"

Developer Telltale Games, who've risen to prominence thanks to their resurrection of classic franchises in episodic form, have got something in the works that's 'mind blowing'.

Unfortunately we won't be told what it is, at least not yet. The studio is busy "out in the streets," chatting with folks about franchises. So far they've brought back two LucasArts classics.

Resi Evil 5 Alt Edition to use PS3 motion control from top to bottom

The newly announced Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition is to use PS3 motion control "from top to bottom", according to Chris Kramer.

"They’re going to be using motion controller on PS3 from top to bottom, going in from movement to combat," he said.

Last month at the Tokyo Games Show, it was revealed that Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition would be with us before long.

The title includes new content and also works with Sony's PS3 motion controller, with the team "evaluating what they can do for 360 players as well".

Konami to revive 'Rocket Knight' series

Konami today revealed plans to revive their 16-bit Rocket Knight series on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Konami producer Tomm Hullet told 1UP, "The idea is that there haven't been any games these past 15 years simply because Sparkster hasn't had any adventures."

Ueda: "I have an interest in making first person games"

He also admitted that he has a particular love for Valve's first-person shooter Half-Life 2.

Quantic: Heavy Rain pushed to early 2010 for "own release window"

Guillaume de Fondaumiere of developer Quantic Dream has said the reason for Heavy Rain's delay from this year to the next was down to a matter of space, it "needs space".

Releasing such "an innovative game" that's also a new property at the crowded end of the year is unwise. Gamers "can't afford" to buy all the winter slated games. It's success is important.

Nobilis: "It's likely PS3 version of Trine will be released in September"

Trine has already been released on the PC (You can read our review here), but what about the PlayStation 3 version? Nobilis told Strategy Informer that it doesn't have a firm date yet, but hopes the game will be available in September.

"Concerning the release of Trine for the PS3 I do not have a firm date yet unfortunately. However it is likely that it will be released in September." said a spokesperson.

Quantic "can do much better" than Heavy Rain's visuals, next time

PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain is the first generation game from developer Quantic Dream, they haven't worked on the platform before so can do much better next time.

That's what boss and founder David Cage declares when asked if Heavy Rain pushes the PS3 to its limit. There's "plenty of room" to improve with their "second or third" gen games.

E3 2009: The Last Guardian Announced

Sony have just unveiled a new PS3 exclusive in the form of The Last Guardian.

It's being developed by the people behind Shadow of the Colossus, Team ICO.

No gameplay footage was shown, and no further details were revealed.

Warner Bros announces Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4

Warner Bros. And TT Games announced today that it's teaming up with the LEGO Group to develop a Lego game for Harry Potter, based on the first four Harry Potter books and movies. The game is called LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and offers a mix of magical gameplay and light-hearted humour. It's set for release in 2010.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will give gamers the chance to experience the magic and adventure of Harry Potter in a new and uniquely LEGO way. Playing as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, as well as other favourite characters, gamers will have the opportunity to attend lessons, cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks and complete tasks to earn house points. Throughout the game, players will also have the freedom to explore iconic settings from the wizarding world including Hogwarts castle, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest and the village of Hogsmeade!

Half-Blood Prince Confirmed for July in the UK

Electronic Arts and Warner Bros today confirmed that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game will be released worldwide on 30th June 2009 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

In the game of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They will also have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.

Overlord II releases June 26th, New Gameplay Trailer Released

Codemasters today announced that Overlord and his Minions will return in Overlord II on June 26th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows. Ahead of release, gamers can see the maniacal Minions in malevolent motion in the new 'Minion Maximus' gameplay video, now available from Strategy Informer.

In Overlord II the Minions return stronger, smarter, deadlier (and funnier) and are ready to fight in epic battles that will see them squaring up to the Legions of a new enemy - the Glorious Empire. Their horde mentality is as wild and outrageous as ever and their loyalty to their Overlord has not changed - they'll do anything and everything that's commanded of them (and then a bit more) to aid their masters' quest to destroy or dominate the land.

Sony Confirms Multiplayer Support for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Sony Computer Entertainment today confirmed multiplayer support for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, an upcoming action game exclusive to the PlayStation 3. For the first time Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will feature up to 10 players in 5-versus-5 competitive gameplay. Cooperative multiplayer modes allow up-to-3 players to progress through a variety of environments by working together to accomplish set objectives.

Using a robust party system, groups of players will remain together in ranked and custom matches while earning currency, which used in combination with currency earned in single player missions, will unlock additional content and upgrades.

Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust coming to Xbox 360 and PC on March 27th

Codemasters announced this morning that Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust will be released on March 27th for Xbox 360 and PC, although there was no mention of the PlayStation 3 version.

Laden with illustrious voice talent to provide the laughs, gamers can now catch video interviews with Jay Mohr (Simpsons, Family Guy, West Wing, Scrubs) who voices Larry Loveage and Carmen Electra (Starsky & Hutch) who plays Ginger Vitus; both videos are now available to view from Strategy Informer.

God of War III and MAG on the way this year

Hidden within an information-packed Sony press release based on the arrival of Killzone 2 next week were some words that will appeal to any PS3 owner. God of War III and MAG, it seems, are going to be unleashed onto the public sometime this year.

Neither game had previously been given a definite window in which it will appear. God of War III is the next instalment into the visceral 'hack n slash' series, while MAG is an exciting 256-player online shooter.

Codemasters showcased some of the star players from its 2009 portfolio at its San Francisco Gamers Day event, held last night, Thursday 19th February. Featured titles included DiRT 2, FUEL, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Jumpgate Evolution, OverlordII, Overlord Dark Legend and Overlord Minions.

Set to deliver a thrilling off-roading experience with extreme sports attitude, new visuals released on Strategy Informer revealed that, in addition to Utah, Malaysia and London, DiRT 2's World Tour of off-road events will take racers to a massive, spectator-packed Los Angeles sports stadium for an exhilarating rally cross event: the "Stadium King Shootout".
