Publisher SEGA has confirmed they've received reports from gamers which show a "small number" are having trouble retaining their saved games for Gearbox Software's Aliens: Colonial Marines.

After some investigation it appears that the "optional HDD install" is the culprit. SEGA advises those who are suffering lost saves to uninstall it from the HDD and play from the disc.

UK Charts: Aliens: Colonial Marines debuts at number one

Despite lukewarm reviews, Gearbox Interactive's Aliens: Colonial Marines has burst into the number one spot of the UK gaming charts. Nothing new makes up the top 10, as all the usual suspects hover around the top. Dead Space 3, number one last week, has dropped down to second.

Gearbox has released a series of updates for all versions of Aliens: Colonial Marines. The long-awaited game, which has struggled through the review process, has received a number of general, single-player and multiplayer improvements.
