Assassin's Creed 3 progress under threat from Xbox 360 Hidden Secrets DLC

Reports from Assassin's Creed 3 gamers are coming in that the recently launched Hidden Secrets DLC is causing player progression data to be erased. Given the size of the game it's quite alarming.

According to Xbox 360 users, after acquiring The Hidden Secrets their in-game money was wiped along with their main campaign progress; however side missions remained unaffected.

Ubisoft has announced that the first DLC for Assassin's Creed 3 is now available for Season Pass subscribers. The Hidden Secrets is available for Xbox 360 and PC today, and will be available the next day for PlayStation 3. The DLC will be available to all users next week on the 11th December for 360 and PC, and the 13th December for PS3.

There's trouble for UK PC gamers looking to expand their Steam library with Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 3 this week as the publisher confirms it's absent "for the time being", despite being available in Europe.

Also noticeably tardy is Far Cry 3 which is due imminently for PC as well. Ubisoft's response to UK fans is this: buy it from Uplay, "our retail partners or other digital distributors."

First single player event now live for Assassin's Creed 3

Ubisoft has launched the first singe player event for Assassin's Creed 3, which tasks gamers with taking out as many enemies as they can. It's called 'Leave No Witnesses' and will be stat tracked.

Already stats are being big brothered over on the official Ubisoft community website. The top scoring players for each platform will receive a free Season Pass for all DLC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 dethrones Halo 4, enjoys 4th largest UK launch ever

Treyarch's return with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has, unsurprisingly, taken the UK chart top spot. That's nudged previous Gold medallist Halo 4 to 2nd place, with FIFA 13 holding 3rd.

Black Ops 2 has become 2012's "biggest launch of 2012" in the UK, and also claims the mantle of "4th biggest of all time." Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed III was 4th, with Skylanders Giants 5th.
