Splash Damage: Brink sold 2.5M worldwide

Splash Damage's multiplayer class-based shooter Brink sold more than 2.5M worldwide, according to CEO Paul Wedgewood. The game was published by Bethesda, but the developer has now instituted its own publishing wing, WarChest.

Splash Damage CEO Paul Wedgwood has been talking about the companies plans for 2012, and reveals that the studio will soon announce new "titles - both on platforms we've previously visited (including the PC and the world's leading consoles), as well as exploring spaces completely new to us."

Brink developer Splash Damage has landed themselves a project signed based off "one of the biggest" US pop culture brands "of the last 50 years," with speculation pointing to Disney.

Whoever this media partner is they were thought to have abandoned console publishing. Brink's engine will be polished and these "well-known characters" will be 'laid over top'.

Bethesda has announced plans to introduce clan support to their class-based multiplayer shooter Brink, as well as hold ranked tournaments. The feature will be added to the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, which was released this past May.
