Emails between some of the higher ups at Activision have been released and it reveals the growing animosity between the publishing giant and Infinity Ward, where plans were being hatched.

Court documents outed by the LA Times show Activision's Dave Stohl expected a "big, negative PR story" from kicking out West and Zampella, adding it was 'freaking him out a little'.

Electronic Arts and Activision have settled out of court over EA's tampering with ex-Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella, who were under contract with Activision at the time, which led to Activision withholding their royalty payments for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and subsequent termination of employment.

A joint statement from both publishers simply stated, "Activision and EA have agreed to put this matter behind them."

This week's US PlayStation Network includes a discounted full game download of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and also Awesomenauts, which may or may not be available thanks to the recent insolvency of publisher dtp Entertainment. Otherwise, players can check out the demo for DiRT Showdown.
