Rumour: EA Partners label to discontinue, Respawn's project unaffected

Publisher EA is shaking things up and among the casualties list is apparently the EA Partners label which saw third-party developers have their work signed up for distribution through EA's retail channels.

The likes of Crysis, Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Bulletstorm and Rock Band all passed through the program, but now it faces the chop in the pursuit of streamlining.

Developer Crytek reveals that they already have plans in mind for the next Crysis after Crysis 3, but it won't be called 'Crysis 4' as "it would be misleading," given that Prophet's story concludes.

Calling it '4' would "imply the story just moves on," but it doesn't. The studio is looking into something "much more radical and new" for the future of the franchise; no pre-production yet.

PS one Imports now on EU PlayStation Store, Borderlands sale

This week's sprucing up of the EU PlayStation Store heralds PS one Imports from Japan, while everybody gets a huge discount for Borderlands GotY.

Ape Escape, Crysis, Homefront, De Blob 2, Saints Row 2 and more all join PSN digitally. There's a free F-15C Death Rider for Ace Combat Assault Horizon.

Crysis now available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Electronic Arts and Crytek have announced that the original Crysis is now available for download on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. The game costs 1600 Microsoft Points from Games on Demand, while the PS3 version can be purchased on PSN for 15.99 ($19.99 USD).

Electronic Arts has revealed that the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions of the original Crysis will be hitting on October 4. Both versions will cost 1600 MSP/$19.99 USD.
