Former EVP of core games at THQ, Danny Bilson, recounts his time at the now extinct publisher, saying it was "brilliant at what it did" from 1991 to 2007 making a fortune for themselves and investors.

There were "legacy issues" which plagued the company, slowing them down. They went from casual and licensed titles to AAA but were "shutting studios the whole time," says Bilson.

Nordic: No "sh---y" sequel for Darksiders this year

Nordic Games acquired a number of licenses from THQ during the IP auction, one of them being Darksiders. However, don't expect to see a Darksiders III anytime soon. Nordic Games states it will not release a "sh----y", rushed game.

Vigil Games co-founder and lead designer for Darksiders 1 & 2 has told Nordic via the publisher's forums that any future title in the series should be adventurous, and explore those other horsemen comets.

Lead combat designer Ben Cureton implores them to stick with "fast-paced combat, the sense of scale, quality voice acting," and making Strife and Fury "BADASS" - or sell the IP to Crytek.

Farrell "heartened" majority of THQ studios and IPs "continue under new ownership"

Brian Farrell and Jason Rubin have discussed a little about the closing moments of publisher THQ, of which both were leading executives. Farrell does "sincerely regret this outcome" for those out of work.

Rubin adds that he was brought in to "help turn this ship around," and while disappointed never everyone was saved, he echoes Farrell in being grateful for those that were snapped up.

Darksiders free to subscribers in latest PlayStation Plus update

Sony has announced that Vigil Games' original Darksiders is the latest title to be given freely to subscribers of PlayStation Plus. They pair that with 50% off PlayStation Vita's Stardrone Extreme.

The corporate giant also lets us know that inFamous 2 will be re-joining the collection of free games, as its removal "was an error" on their part. It will appear in this week's Instant Game Collection.
