Capcom: 'Novelty wearing off' among fans for brawler HD updates

It seems Capcom are drawing a close to their run of HD updates to brawlers as sales are slowing down, reveals Capcom's SVP Christian Svensson. They won't be giving all their fighting titles a HD makeover.

Svensson outlines a lot of the hurdles they must clear in order to get "PS1, PS2 and PSP ISOs on PSN." It's not pretty. In truth they've "probably run the course of feasible titles" getting onto PSN.

Capcom has dated Darkstalkers Resurrection for a mid-March release on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. It was due to launch February 7th but, well, best laid plans and all that.

March 14th was the delayed date, but now it will be March 12th for PSN and 13th for XBLA. This pushback was to ensure online play worked smoothly, and that it has faithful reproductions.

Developer Iron Galaxy is pulling out all the stops in its work on Dalkstalkers Resurrection, which is a HD remastering of the fighting game Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3.

Strategy Informer was at NY Comic Con 2012 at the Javits Center in New York City today, where Capcom revealed Darkstalkers Resurrection, a bundle for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network that will be released sometime in 2013.
