Tecmo has revealed in its quarterly report that the publisher is aiming to give Team Ninja's long-running fighting game Dead or Alive 5 a September 2012 worldwide release.

Players who purchased Ninja Gaiden 3 earlier have found that the Online Pass code included with the game that allows them to engage in multiplayer online simply do not work. Furthermore, the Dead or Alive 5 demo code found in the Collector's Edition wasn't working either.

Akira Yuki, the face of Virtua Fighter 5, will be a playable character in Team Ninja's Dead or Alive 5, and he may not be the last of the series to make an appearance in the game. Studio head Yosuke Hayashi hinted in this week’s Famitsu that more Virtua Fighter characters may be coming to Dead or Alive 5.

Team Ninja has revealed that Akira Yuki, mascot of the Virtua Fighter series, will be a playable fighter in Dead or Alive 5, which will be released in September for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This will represent the first time the star of another fighting game will appear in the series.

Yosuke Hayashi has been leading Team Ninja for the last three years and he doesn't want it following in those same footsteps. "Sex and violence," was what it used to be.

The studio is busy with Ninja Gaiden 3 and Dead or Alive 5. The new team want to "take it to a new level" that contains "emotional experiences" for players. Want to avoid cheap thrills.
