EA: Two or three new IPs 'always in the works', reveals at E3

During its fiscal investor call, EA revealed they've always got two or three new IPs being worked on so they don't need to rely on non-stop sequels.

They teased more is likely to be known about them at E3 this year. Recent examples of new IP include Dead Space, Dante's Inferno, and Dragon Age.

Thought that Dead Space flick had been decapitated? It continues to twitch with promise reveals director D.J. Caruso, as they're penning the story still.

The team were "trying to do a prequel" but it didn't pan out so well. Caruso wants to "capture" how scary the videogame is to play in the film.

Survival horror mega star Dead Space could become a live action movie if developer Visceral Games get their wish, but they won't be rushing into it.

The reason Dead Space is so popular is because they strive to do "everything right," says the studio. They'll be "doing the same with the film" if it starts up.

EA has once again backed an animated film for Dead Space, their super survival horror franchise. It's due on DVD and Blu-ray January 24th - rated 18.

Aftermath bridges the end of Dead Space and the beginning of the sequel. This is EA's second animated flick for Dead Space with 'Downfall' proving a hit.

President Frank Gibeau of the EA Games label has said the movie-game business, which was once their bread and butter, is crumbling into dust.

Hits now come from games given time "to get to quality," not licensed and 'creatively limiting' IPs. It's why EA "dumped" James Bond eventually.
