Dead Space 3, Crysis 3 failed to meet sales expectations
Electronic Arts during its investors call revealed that two of its major AAA big budget titles, Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3, failed to achieve the publisher's expected sales.

Dead Space 3 was the king of best-selling games in the US for the month of February 2013, according to the NPD. Crysis 3 came in third but was viewed as underperforming as it couldn't beat Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in sales; the latter had been released back in November 2012.

EA's horror action series Dead Space is still twitching with life as they announce the Awakened DLC will be launching next week March 12th for Xbox 360 and PC, with PS3 a day later on the 13th.
This new content features the "darkest chapters" yet in the franchise as the Necromorph fight harder with "even more gruesome and terrifying" battles than before. A trailer has gone live.

Wasn't 'liking' microtransactions one of the first signs of the end times? Nah, I'm sure we're fine. EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen certainly seems to think so. Apparently we consumers are "embracing" them.
EA likes 'us' liking 'it' so much that they're building it "into all" their titles moving forward - that is; the "ability to pay for things along the way," like guns, trucks and fancy cosmetic moustaches.

Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszkinski has suggested players are no longer willing to pay for a pure horror experience in gaming. In particular, he discussed Dead Space 3 and how EA were conscious of ramping up the action to keep consumers interested.
