Alien disease storyline shared by Defiance MMO and TV show
A crossover event between Defiance the MMO and Defiance the SyFy television show has debuted, in which gamers in the MMO will be combating a mysterious illness which will be referenced in the 17th June episode of the show.

MMO Defiance is feeling a little peaky right now as Trion Worlds have kicked off an in-game event that has players scrambling to find a cure for a mysterious sickness sweeping through the Bay area.
It adds one new pursuit and 3 data recordings to be found in the game world. Triage centres have been established in Top Notch and Shandu's Consulate for those interested in the event.

Back in December, MMO developer Trion Worlds was hit with a round of layoffs. The studio chalked it down to "a response to market conditions."

The NPD group has released figures for the US sales from the 4th April through to the 7th May. The Xbox 360 led console sales, with 130K units sold. Sony and Nintendo declined to reveal their unit sales, though reportedly, the Wii U sold 55K units, 20K less than the Wii.

The SyFy television show Defiance about a post-apocalyptic alien invasion has been picked up for a second season, and Trion Worlds has announced that the cross-media MMO of the same name will be getting five major expansions during the next year.
