UK Chart: FIFA 13 retains crown, Skylanders Giants debut in second

FIFA 13 has strolled to yet another number one in the UK chart. Skylanders Giants have arrived second, with Dishonored dropping down to third in its second week. Doom 3: BFG Edition entered the chart fifth, and 007 Legends landed at 12th.

The re-release of id Software's DOOM 3 is now out in US retailers. The BFG Edition comes packed with higher definition visuals, better more horrifying sounds, checkpoint saves and 3D support.

Also included is the Resurrection of Evil expansion as well as a new singleplayer add-on The Lost Mission. The original DOOM and DOOM 2 also feature. Flashlights are now gun friendly.

Sony has announced that it would start releasing new AAA titles on PlayStation Network to complement retail sales. Some of the eight titles will be discounted for PSN Plus members on pre-order.

Carmack: Doom 4 "done when it's done"

At an interview at QuakeCon 2012, id co-founder John Carmack stated that Doom 4 has no set release date, that it'll get a release date when the developer is ready to release it. Essentially, "done when it's done."

DOOM 3: BFG Edition gets October release dates

Bethesda has announced that DOOM 3: BFG Edition, the next-gen update of the original DOOM 3, will be launched in North America on the 16th October and the 19th October worldwide. The BFG Edition will feature a higher resolution re-master of DOOM 3 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The BFG Edition will also include the expansion released for DOOM 3, "The Resurrection of Evil", as well as seven new levels called "The Lost Mission".
