CCP Games' Worlds Within a World monument defaced, pursuing legal action

The 16ft Worlds Within a World sculpture that was erected in Reykjavik, Iceland last week has been the target of vandalism, with EVE Online developer CCP Games calling it an "insult to the entire community".

EVE Online user Xenuria had their name defaced. CCP regard the incident as "absolutely disgusting," and now threaten action within the community "along with any legal action".

EVE Online creator CCP firmly believes that this impending wave of virtual reality from the likes of Oculus Rift and Sony will change everything, and they "kind of bet the company" this is where it would end up.

They want to take EVE Valkyrie's use of VR integration ultimately into EVE Online, and DUST 514. Currently EVE is "kind of an operating system level" of a virtual world - now it can go further.

CCP Games unveils outdoor monument to "immortalize" EVE Online players

Confirmation from CCP Games has just been announced that they will proceed with an outdoor monument to the EVE Online community, which they revealed plans for at Fanfest 2013.

It will serve as a "physical manifestation of the respect and appreciation" that CCP has for its fans, and as a "gift to Reykjavik," the studio's home for the past 16 years.

CCP have issued the latest monthly update to Dust 514, adding improved vehicles, more guns and other goodies to the free-to-play shooter.

EVE Online developer CCP Games believes the secret formula to getting an MMO beyond 10 years of life is to believe it's never finished, that it can "always be better." Rivals are declining whereas EVE is growing.

Part of the tremendous success is the interaction with the community both in and out the game, with CMO David Reid stating you must turn over "a certain level of control" to players.
