F1 2010 sells over 2.3m globally

Codemasters' F1 2010 has "surpassed expectations" by selling over 2.3 million copies around the world with 540k of those sold in the UK alone. No franchise "freefall".

They had "some cool things" up their sleeve with F1 2010 boast Codemasters, and they learnt a "great deal" over the years working on the Formula 1 racing franchise.

Formula 1 racing is Codemasters hopeful 'ace in the hole' that will become as established for them and as crucial to annual schedules "as FIFA is to EA."

They "won this licence" for F1 because racers are "in the DNA" of their studios. Unsure anyone "out there" could top their F1 videogame performance.

Publisher Codemasters says launching a game like F1 2010 but 'incomplete', "maybe it's got six tracks," with DLC to finish it later isn't "inconceivable".

Such methods would "deal with a lot" of the pre-owned and piracy issues. The obstacle is how to "figure out" this kind of videogame - retail may revolt.

The Xbox 360 version seems to be stuck in the pit-stop for a while longer. This should address many of the game issues plaguing the community.

While the studio is busy fixing F1 2010's serious save game corruption issue, another matter has reared up and has a some players riled.

They accuse the AI of being "phoney" and not bothering to lap, likening opponents to cars in GTA 'popping in'. Codemasters assures its "very complex".
