Interplay Fallout MMO in financial peril, could bankrupt studio
Very stormy clouds loom over publisher Interplay as a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commision reveal how troubled their company is.
If they "do not receive sufficient financing" then Interplay must "liquidate assets", or be "forced into bankruptcy", unless they keep going but suffer "material harm".

Once more Bethesda has given the reins to another legal team to handle their lawsuit against Interplay over the Fallout license and the MMO in the works.
Interplay meanwhile continues to stick with their single attorney, Jeffrey Gersh. Bethesda say they optioned the license to Interplay but they broke agreements.

Peter Hines of Bethesda has confirmed that "obviously" any future titles from the game studio will make use of the new Creation Engine technology.
It will debut in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which hits in November this year. Hines tells fans they're "gonna have to wait and see" what project is next.

The Killzone 3 theme from PlayStation Plus will go live 8pm in the UK today, with the first 10k downloading it to be entered into the Killzone 3 beta.
Also releasing today for PS Plus subscribers is Fallout 3 DLC for free, with the last 2 pieces October 20th. These have to be grabbed quick or you lose out.

ZeniMax secures $150m in funds

It may be time for another development studio to end up in ZeniMax Media's shopping cart again as the Bethesda parent gets $150m in pocket money.
3 years ago Providence Equity Partners stuffed ZeniMax coffers with $300m. The recent acquisition was of id Software, creators of Quake and Doom.
