God of War Saga Collection out August end, says report

A retail source has whispered the existence of something called the God of War Saga Collection which is bound for PlayStation 3 and aims to release sometime in late August.

It's unclear what God of War titles will make it into this 'Saga' but given that it's August tomorrow, surely Gamescom will spill the beans? God of War: Ascension is due March 12th.

UK retailer GAME and Sony start selling digital items in store

UK high street retailer GAME and Gamestation have begun selling European PlayStation Store digital items, like first-party releases God of War Collection.

It's a "significant step forward" for GAME's digital strategy says the retailer. It also "reflects the close and long standing relationship" they have with Sony Europe.

Sony drops a surprise for God of War fans as a 'God of War Origins Collection' is due this September alongside the 'Ico & Shadows of the Colossus Collection'.

Origins bundles two PSP God of Wars together in full HD for PS3, supporting 3D as well. No one saw the Kratos bundle coming, but finally Team Ico date theirs.

Two job listings for God of War's Sony Santa Monica reveal the team are scouring for first and third-person shooter experience, as well as open-world know how.

These two posts are for their "next project" in the works. Vehicle combat is another want by the studio. Are you a senior combat designer or level designer?

Report: God of War 4 by Sept. 2012

A PSM3 magazine source claims God of War 4 is in development and "will hit in September 2012." Not too long ago an online CV teased a "cinematic test".

The animator in question said it was unrelated to Sony's IP. Santa Monica Studio said the trilogy is over but it's "not the end" of the series, much to fan delight.
