Going with Jak & Daxter over The Last of Us would have been "a disservice"

Developer Naughty Dog reveals they gave some serious thought to revisiting Jak & Dakter but decided The Last of Us was the better choice. They would have 'applied all they learned'.

If they had of picked up the Jak & Daxter banner again they felt it wouldn't be what fans wanted, and it would have been "limiting the direction" of the studio. Never say never, ever.

Sony has announced on the official PlayStation Blog that the Jak & Daxter Collection will be launching in North America on the 7th February, and in Europe a few weeks later on the 22nd. The Collection features the first three Jak & Daxter games, all remastered with 720p HD graphics, stereoscopic 3D, and Trophy support.

Sony has announced on the official PlayStation US Blog that the Jak & Daxter Collection, which includes Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3, will be arriving in retail in February 2012.

A month ago, a South African retailer BT Games leaked the existence of a Jak & Daxter bundleware including remastered versions of Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2: Renegade, and Jak 3, all of which were originally released for the PlayStation 2.

Now, it seems that Germany's official game's rating board, the USK (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle), has now listed a game called Jak & Daxter Trilogy Edition, all but confirming the bundleware's existence.
