FIFA 14 leads first week of 2014 UK chart, same as FIFA 13 last year

Once again EA Sports has lead the kick-off for the UK chart in an all-new year as FIFA 14 achieved its 6th week as number one. FIFA 13 managed the same thing week one last year, with 21% less sales.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was 2nd followed by Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag 3rd. Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V remains strong 4th, and could become the biggest selling game in the UK.

Whoops. We just couldn't wait a few more hours could we? A CGI trailer for Watch Dogs has gone and sprung a leak online, spilling all 3 minutes of itself on the Internet like hot coffee on your tax return form.

It teases hacking vigilante Adrian Pearce who boasts he just needs 'four seconds and a clear signal' to mess with you. Elsewhere Xbox Live Marketplace outted 'Just Dance 2014'.

Dead Space 3 #1 US seller in February, Black Ops 2 beats Crysis 3

Dead Space 3 was the king of best-selling games in the US for the month of February 2013, according to the NPD. Crysis 3 came in third but was viewed as underperforming as it couldn't beat Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in sales; the latter had been released back in November 2012.

Euro PSN content for the week features free Mass Effect 3 on PSN Plus

Sony has revealed this week's PlayStation Network content for European gamers, including some of the PSN Plus deals. Notably, PSN Plus Euro gamers can get Mass Effect 3 free, along with Mass Effect 2 for 10% off, presumably to celebrate the release of the Citadel DLC.

Black Ops 2, Xbox 360 lead US sales in January

The NPD Group has revealed the top selling games for January 2013, which was led by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, continuing its domination of the market.

Furthermore, the Xbox 360 led for the 25th straight month with 281,000 unit sales. Neither Sony nor Nintendo revealed their hardware sales for January, however.
