Crystal: "No plans to do anything" with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Tomb Raider's Crystal Dynamics enjoyed their time creating the off-shoot 'Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light', but it appears to have been a one-time thing. It was a "great opportunity to explore things".
However, Crystal has just re-established Lara Croft in their reboot which launched yesterday. It's this Lara that they'll be focusing on moving forward after this "brief detour into her origins".

Square Enix has added Crystal Dynamics' Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light to their cloud gaming service CoreOnline, meaning the action platformer is now free-to-play, joining Hitman.
It's the "perfect mix of pick-up-and-play and challenging single player", says Square Enix. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light explores the British icon outside the Tomb Raider series.

Crystal Dynamic rebooted the Tomb Raider franchise as Lady Croft was "losing some relevance" to the world, and they wanted her "more approachable".
Lara "became an icon" of sorts and lost her "relatability." They remade her so she "wasn't perfect" as gamers want "a complex hero." Ground is 'fertile' again.
