UK chart remains with Naughty Dog's The Last of Us for fifth week

The end of the world whilst looking after a smart-mouth teen is all the rage as The Last of Us continues to lead the UK all format chart, even with sales dropping 43%. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is just behind 2nd.

If The Last of Us makes it another week than it'll match Black Ops 2 and FIFA 12 in unbroken runs. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros. debuted 3rd. Civilization V: Brave New World entered 39th.

Sony: Over 3.4m sales for The Last of Us, "fastest selling" new IP in PS3 history

Naughty Dog has struck gold with The Last of Us as it has entered into the record books as the "fastest selling new software title" ever in the history of PlayStation 3. The number crunching includes physical and digital.

Since launch on June 14th to July 3rd is has sold over 3.4 million. It's all a "testament to the blockbuster quality" of Naughty Dog's latest, hails Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida.

Fourth week at the top for The Last of Us, Minecraft for Xbox 360 2nd in UK chart

Naughty Dog's The Last of Us has enjoyed a fourth consecutive week wearing the UK all format chart crown, as Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition remains the heir apparent for another week as well.

FIFA 13 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf swap around 3rd and 4th place respectively. Assassin's Creed 3 has risen 5th with Tomb Raider just behind. Ride to Hell: Retribution debuted 35th.

Naughty Dog's The Last of Us remains first among the UK all format chart, despite sales being 35% down. Debuting 2nd was Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition from 4J Studios and Microsoft.

The Sims 3: Island Paradise entered 5th, with High Moon's Deadpool 6th. Relic Entertainment's Company of Heroes 2 busted the Eastern Front in retailing 10th.

The Last of Us 1.02 patch fixes multiplayer, removes phone sex numbers

Developer Naughty Dog has released a new patch for The Last of Us which generally fixes multiplayer, but also changed the phone numbers accidentally posted on the bulletin board that led to phone sex lines (one of the artists not knowing 555 fake numbers don't apply to toll free.)
