I am so sick of these Lord of the Ring games.....they need to make another movie.

I am really looking forward to this release, for it seems to be the most interesting LotR franchise game I have seen to date... excluding the MMORPG.

Seeing the hobbit being skewered in the trailer definitely makes me think that this title will be marketed at the mature audience, allowing it to really show the gritty realism of what Middle Earth was facing against the threat of domination by Sauron and his minions.

This is obviously one of Pandemic's "secret" projects. Looks fantastic, and is surely the only true rival to WoW.

It can't be a rival to WoW, because it's not an MMORPG. I don't think it's even a strategy game, since I heard it plays out like Star Wars: Battlefront. If this is true, then it would mean that a bunch of guys would spawn from both sides and would just start killing each other until either side runs out of guys. This seems like good, mindless fun for a while. I've had my share of fun with the Battlefront games.

It's an action game.
The only test is has to pass with me is whether or not it will suffer from the dreaded "console-itis".

...besides being GOOD, of course.

I haft to disagree with you herodotus, Lord of the Rings will not over come WoW......ever.

Naw, this isn't even close to wow, and the type ain't really the same. If you think about it, it kind of resembles Star wars Battlefront, where you go around and do missions, whereas here you go around and develop a story, if you die you respawn again, i think, but instead of a laser blaster you end up with a sword and serious combat skills.

Sounds like the two LOTR action games already released, and now on budget. Weren't much chop then, so one wonders what the inspiration was for this one.

You have to admit that by the trailer the game seems really cool, and it seems it was made using ingame graphics, so all we have to do is wait right? We can test it then a see if the wait was worth it.

Many likings between Starwars and this LOTR game. I agree with 'its good to be bad'. It's just like playing Starwars using the dark side power. Sauron is a Sith. I repeat, SITH. And his minions are like clonetroopers. Anyway, the game is cool!
