Mortal Kombat passes 3M sales mark

Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that Netherrealm's graphically gory fighter Mortal Kombat has sold over 3M units worldwide across the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

Sony America SVP of Publisher Relations, Rob Dyer, admits that while Microsoft enjoys a "massive lead on the hardware side," PS3 does better with software.

For every PS3 sold about 1.6 Xbox 360s are, but software growth is "happening on the PS3," he says. Xbox 360 and shooter association no "cause for alarm" yet.

Driver: San Francisco demo added to US PlayStation Store

The weekly US PlayStation Store update is here and Ubisoft want the spotlight for their Driver: San Francisco demo, plus Far Cry 2 is now downloadable.

Madden NFL 12 also gets a demo. Freddy Kreuger joins the Mortal Kombat line-up as DLC, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon gets two weapon packs.

The Freddy Krueger downloadable content for Mortal Kombat is now available. The DLC is available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points or for download as part of the Microsoft Season Pass. He is also available for $4.99 on PlayStation Network or as part of the newly released “Mortal Kombat DLC Warrior Bundle” where all four DLC characters can be purchased for only $14.99.

Capcom doubt Street Fighter could ever mix with Mortal Kombat

While fans of Street Fighter and Tekken have games from Capcom and Namco Bandai crossing over the universes, what about the Mortal Kombat crowd?

Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono doubts it could ever happen, though he understands "why people want it." It's one of those things "easier said than done."
