Ratchet & Clank in cinemas worldwide in 2015
Insomniac Games' Ratchet & Clank is heading for the silver screen in 2015 (hey that rhythms!) courtesy of Blockade Entertainment and animation talent from studio Rainmaker Entertainment.
James Stevenson of Insomniac says the "action, humor and galaxy-spanning adventures" of the Ratchet & Clank series is perfect for film. T.J. Fixman is writing the script, who also wrote for all the games.

The name 'Sunset Overdrive' has been trademarked by Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games, with Brand Development Director Ryan Schneider having snapped up a domain address.
The patent refers to "computer game software" that's online, which is no surprise. What is Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive? Is this a next-gen project? Something for Facebook, tablets etc?

Sony's newest HD Collection on the PS3 block looks to be all about Ratchet & Clank if retailer Amazon France has anything to say about it, which their product listing does.
There were four Ratchet & Clank titles released on PlayStation 2 from developer Insomniac Games, which began in 2002 and ended in 05. If Sly Cooper can go HD, then why not?

Ted Price of Insomniac Games declares his studio will continue developing new franchises describing the process as great and terrifying. New IP comes with "no baggage" to consider.
It's something that can be taken in "any direction" but it's of course "a difficult moment" as you decide what it should be. It's a huge gamble for studios as you back "unproven" mechanics.

Platform game veteran Mark Cerny, who has worked with Sony on IPs like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, believes the rise of social networks will end solo play.
In fact the "traditional single-player" experience will be "gone in three years." 2014 is the solitary gamers' apocalypse - already seeing it "starting to crumble".
