This week's deals for PlayStation Network Plus members includes discounts of up to 65% off games in the Resident Evil series. In addition, the puzzle-platformer Thomas Was Alone, which debuts this week on PSN, features a 20% off its launch price of $9.99 for subscribers.

Producer Masachika Kawata is less 'enthusiastic' with taking Resident Evil in a more action-orientated direction after feedback from their latest instalments. Although he still believes it's generally right.

Operation Raccoon City, essentially a "pure shooter" set in the RE universe, would likely do better as a sequel if they 'brought back' a lot of horror. It would bring together elements "we need".

Before Resident Evil 4 took the shape it did, designer Yasuhisa Kawamura wrote and helped design a very different tale in a bid to "make biohazard 4 scarier" - it went through "several iterations".

In the end it collapsed as there were "many obstacles" and it was "deemed too expensive." What became Resident Evil 4 was the "best idea out of all of them," claimed Kawamura-san.

The top 10 best-selling PSN games last year have been counted, which tally only digital sales over the service. Wearing the crown is Tetris, followed by Capcom's Resident Evil 4.

In 3rd place is Infamous Festival of Blood, stalked by Telltale Games' Back to the Future: The Game - Full Series. Call of Duty map packs hogged the top 10 paid downloads.

The 'No Hope Left' poster campaign has struck London and it's been confirmed by ad agency Primesight that Capcom is behind it. Speculation is explosive of an announcement tonight.

Reports are coming in that Capcom will use the Resident Evil 15th birthday bash as a podium to announce Resident Evil 6. Also expected is the 'HD Remaster Twin Pack.'
