EA big chief John Riccitiello believes the reign of skateboarding as the "representative example" of action sports is no more, as excitement has dropped.

Skate is EA's own skateboarding IP and it's done remarkably well thanks to its analogue stick-based tricks. Action sports is an "ongoing exciting genre".
