Beenox: There's a lot of pressure in keeping Spider-Man "fresh"

Developer Beenox Games is on its fourth Spider-Man game, after having previously worked on such titles as Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Each of the previous games received increasingly higher review scores - so there's an assumption that the IP is becoming old hat for the developer.

This is not the case, as studio head Dee Brown related in an interview with Gamasutra. If anything, there's more pressure for their next game, The Amazing Spider-Man, to be a success.

Activision has announced that The Amazing Spider-Man, a tie-in to the blockbuster film being released next Summer, will take place in the events after the events of the film and will bring the web-slinger back to Manhattan. The game's story is being written by Seamus Kevin Fahey, who is best known for his work on the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

A poster at the New York Comic-Com has announced Activision and Beenox's next Spider-Man game, and it's a movie tie-in called The Amazing Spider-Man.

Beenox made Spider-Man's Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time titles. The new Spidey film is due in cinema July 4th next year in the US. More soon no doubt.

On April 2, Activision and Beenox are going to announce a new Spider-Man game at WonderCon 2011, a comic book convention based in San Francisco, CA. The publisher and developer had collaborated to produce the popular Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions game.

During their latest fiscal call Activision has announced two "movie-based titles" are due for this year. They are based on X-Men and Transformers 3.

Another Spider-Man is expected to websling in 2011 too, plus they'll be tapping into TV shows Wipeout and Family Guy. There's free-to-play Call of Duty.
