Aksys Games have decided to spread their upcoming strategy RPG across both PSN and XBLA, for fear of WWIII from "apparent favoritism".
At least that's what the time traveller warned them, they say. Record of Agarest War will be available in spring for Xbox 360 and PS3. | |

Sony Online Entertainment and Wizards of the Coast today announced that they are developing Magic: The Gathering – Tactics, an online 3D turn-based strategy game for the PC, with a PS3 version coming later. "The growing Magic: The Gathering community has an insatiable desire for great strategic game experiences. Tomorrow on the PlayStation Network will be Creat Studios' seventh title release this year for PlayStation 3, and it's called Mushroom Wars, where you "do battle for" mushrooms.
Yes that's right. You take charge of "cute armies" as you upgrade your mushroom bases, with a "quaint, anime-inspired" art style. You can challenge the AI or "kick your friends' butts". | |

Californian indie developer Pelfast has spilled the beans on their upcoming PSN title Comet Crash, due in October, a game for 1 to 3 players with 28 "action-packed levels."
It's a mix of traditional tower defence gameplay, but now you can take the offensive yourself and go for their fortifications in "seriously huge" battles, with armies up to 1000 units each player. | |

This Thursday the PlayStation Network will have Red Alert 3's scenario challenge mode added, it's called Commander's Challenge and features 50 unique feats to overcome.
It's taken from PC exclusive Uprising, and arrives as a completely seperate offering to console gamers. It will also be on Xbox Live but at a later date. Ric Flair, and even Malcolm McDowell! | |

TurboGrafx-16's strategy title Military Madness is getting that remake, remember? Developer Backbone is busy working on the XBLA edition Nectaris, due this month.
The revival/remake of Military Madness is expected sometime for PlayStation 3 and Wii, but no date has been set. It's all about a prison revolt on the Moon that threatens the Earth. | |

Harvey Elliot, vice president of Electronic Arts' Bright Lights Studio in the UK, told Kikizo that he would love to see remakes of classic Bullfrog IP. "For me, I love the old Bullfrog IP, it got me really passionately into games, and I'm really proud that Bullfrog is part of the heritage of Bright Light," said Elliot. Codemasters today announced that Overlord and his Minions will return in Overlord II on June 26th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows. Ahead of release, gamers can see the maniacal Minions in malevolent motion in the new 'Minion Maximus' gameplay video, now available from Strategy Informer. In Overlord II the Minions return stronger, smarter, deadlier (and funnier) and are ready to fight in epic battles that will see them squaring up to the Legions of a new enemy - the Glorious Empire. Creative Assembly Australia revealed today that the second patch for RTS Stormrise has been cancelled due to certification issues, cost of development and distribution. In an interview with Haemimont Games, Strategy Informer learned that the company is looking at the possibility of porting its upcoming Grand Ages: ROME to consoles, although it suggested that the Xbox 360 would be best suited for this style of game. "We will look at the possibility, as the demographic and installed base increases on console it becomes more of an opportunity for us, if anything Xbox 360 is best suited for this style of game." said Boyan Ivanov, game designer at Haemimont Games. | |

Capcom has confirmed this morning that its upcoming sheep-herding arcade game called Flock! Will be released on Xbox Live on April 8th, PC April 7th and PlayStation Network on April 9th. In Flock!, players take control of a UFO that has been given the challenge of herding farm animals to its mothership through a variety of puzzle-filled interactive levels, including corn fields, pastures and other “plushie”-like environments. In order to succeed, players will have to manage the quirkiness of the animal’s distinct behaviors, as well as solve a series of environmental puzzles using Flock's! physics-based gameplay. | |

The second company to emerge from the former Ensemble Studios was announced today. Bonfire Studios is a 35 person studio currently working on an original IP to be announced in the coming months. The Bonfire team is made up entirely of former Ensemble employees fresh off of the highly anticipated Halo Wars. "Ensemble had an incredible group of highly talented people and the companies coming out of it are really made up of the best of the best. Ensemble was one of the few studios with two A-teams," said David Rippy, president and CEO of Bonfire Studios. "We are already working on an original IP that we'll start talking about in the next few months." | |
