Developer Starbreeze fears Syndicate may be "too hard"
Starbreeze is proud of their first person shooter remake of the classic Syndicate, but the developer is worried that it may have made the game too hard. According to Starbreeze, the game is so hardcore that it can't be played as a typical shooter. Blazing away will result in failure.

Electronic Arts has reported that the publisher has enjoyed its biggest financial quarter in almost 8 years, and attributes it to its wildly successful digital distribution revenue, as well as income from some of its stalwart franchises.

The weekly update to the PlayStation Store includes the release of the demos for Syndicate and Twisted Metal, as well as the debut of the puzzle title Puddle. A slew of important DLC has landed on PSN as well, including the single player expansion Ryder White for Dead Island, and the launch DLC for Soul Calibur V.

EA and Starbreeze's Syndicate now has its demo available on the Xbox Live Marketplace where up to four-players can get together for some co-op sci-fi action. It's 723MB in size.
The same co-op demo will be available later today on US PSN, and tomorrow in the EU. In co-op mode each player is an agent looking to sabotage a rival corporation, or fight them off.

Syndicate developer Starbreeze Studios says designing video games, at least for them, has moved on from choosing a genre and then filling in the blanks from there - it's the experience.
It's "what kind of game" they want to make which decide "whatever elements" feature in it. Syndicate has to have "top-notch shooting" but doesn't need to compete.
