Four-player co-op Demo for Syndicate announced

EA announced this afternoon that a four-player co-op demo for Syndicate will be released at the end of January.

The co-op missions tell the story of a new Syndicate on the rise, Wulf Western. As agents of Wulf Western, gamers must dominate their rivals Cayman Global, Aspari and Eurocorp by acquiring their technology and headhunting their senior executives.

Syndicate banned in Australia, EA won't fight ruling

The Australian Classification Board has refused to certify Syndicate, meaning it is effectively banned from Australia, due to the excessive violence in the game. Electronic Arts will not dispute the ruling, and will release the game as scheduled on the 24th February everywhere else in the world.

Syndicate reboot developer Starbreeze Studios has a PlayStation Network title in the pipeline at their Swedish offices, which is a "self-financed thing going on" at the studio.

Big developers need to understand how to "utilise the new medium, so to speak," and build something for PSN and not do "a big game." It's the "hardest part" to adjust down to something small.

We had a chat with EA Partners executive producer Jeff Gamon about Syndicate, and he says they've been "trying to get it made for ages," and Starbreeze aligned as "ideal partners".

There's been a "core of people" trying to get Syndicate up and running again, but they "never set out to 'remake'" the classic IP - it was about bringing it back "to a new audience."
