Remember Activision's skateboard peripheral and its accompanying Tony Hawk: Ride release? Pro skater Tony Hawk sure remembers, and says it suffered because of the board.

Too much time was spent figuring it out, which they thought "would have been the easier part," leading to Ride itself getting rushed. Shred was "what I wanted Ride to be".

The Tony Hawk videogame franchise hit a nadir with the clumsy peripheral-laden Tony Hawk: Ride and Tony Hawk: Shred, but that hasn't deterred the skateboarding legend from posting on Twitter that he was going to make an announcement on Saturday.

Publisher Activision, aside from butchering their music genre studios, has also revealed there will be no new skateboarding title from them this calendar.

There are to be "no new music or skateboarding games" in 2011. The Tony Hawk franchise is still nursing its wounds from Ride and Shred's dismal entries.

Robomodo has just lost 30 employees according to sources with another 30 to have their fate decided soon by Activision, as Tony Hawk is taken away.

Tony Hawk: Shred is the studio's last entry in the series apparently after Ride and its peripheral board failed to wow. They're "busy" with work still.
