Tomb Raider sales hit 3.4 million, falls below expectations

Square Enix has published their sales figures for Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs - all have fell short of expectations for the publisher. North America was particularly poor compared to Europe.

Tomb Raider has sold 3.4 million in four weeks, which is rather good actually but not according to Square accountants. Hitman: Absolution has sold 3.6 million, and Sleeping Dogs 1.75 million.

Square Enix in ¥5.7bn loss, due to "increasingly difficult" console market

Publisher Square Enix has posted a ¥5.7bn loss for the nine-month period ending December 31st, 2012. This is despite video game sales increasing from ¥95.7bn to ¥102.7bn.

This fiscal year has so far seen Hitman: Absolution, Sleeping Dogs and Final Fantasy XIII-2. Square still holds out hope for their end of year report, as Tomb Raider releases in early March.

Square Enix has confirmed that Year of the Snake will be coming in the first three months of 2013 for Sleeping Dogs, along with some other unreleased DLC.

Thanks to a newly released teaser trailer and some PlayStation 3 Trophy leaks, we now know more DLC is coming to Sleeping Dogs. It's called 'Year of the Snake' and is themed around Chinese New Year.

February 10th marks the event and so it's likely the new content will release around then. Trophies reveal Wei joining a bomb squad and tackling cultists, as well as picking up more collectibles.

Sleeping Dogs free for PS Plus subscribers February 6th

Sony has unveiled three new PlayStation 3 games coming to PlayStation Plus for free next month, as well as two for PlayStation Vita. Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs arrives February 6th.

It'll be joined by Codemasters' F1 Race Stars and puzzler Quantum Conundrum. Meanwhile Vita will be receiving WipEout 2048 and Lumines: Electronic Symphony, February 13th and 20th.
