Take 2 confirms acquiring WWE license

When THQ was dissolved, it left the WWE franchise cast adrift and unable to recover the $45M loan it had given the publisher.

Not soon after, it was rumored that Take 2 acquired the license. That rumor has been confirmed by Take 2 in a statement to IGN.

Many of newly dissolved THQ's properties were attached to auction bids by many studios including UbiSoft and Koch Media, among others, but one major license was notably absent: the WWE license.

Looks like World Wrestling Entertainment, aka the WWE, won't be getting the $45M owed to it by publisher THQ, thanks to the loan being unsecured. This was revealed in the bankruptcy filing by THQ.

Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has just enjoyed its fifth consecutive week leading the UK all format chart, matching LEGO Batman 2 for number of weeks at the top spot in 2012.

Hitman: Absolution makes a surprising climb to second, while FIFA 13 keeps dribbling third for its sixth consecutive week. Halo 4, Need for Speed and LEGO LOTRO keep their posts.

Xbox 360 leads November US sales, overall sales down

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has announced that according to the November 2012 US NPD sales data, the Xbox 360 was the best-selling console in November with 1.26 million units sold, which Greenberg bragged was “nearly 2x all other consoles” and more than the “Wii U+Wii combined”.
