Firaxis has posted the changelog for their second patch update for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which includes an easier time of beating back the intergalactic invasion forces when set on easy difficulty.

The team don't have an exact date on the patch. They also address some SHIV related hiccups. The upcoming fixes may not include something for the defeat screen bug at the game's end.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown wasn't developed with modding as one of the "core pillars", says producer Garth DeAngelis, but the team recognise its importance to the community. It may happen sometime.

Mod support is something they'd "like to resolve going forward," but the team is busy with lots of plans in motion "for a while." Firaxis have just announced the Slingshot DLC adding new missions.

2K Games has announced the first two downloadable content packs for Firaxis' hit strategy remake of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. One is a DLC pack that was already given to gamers who pre-ordered the game or bought it at launch, while the other is a brand-new scenario taking place in China.

They're curious because they mention named missions or scenarios, with descriptions that appear to hint at little challenges. The consensus is that Firaxis has done XCOM proud.
