Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed Unity part of Ubisoft's E3 2014 line-up

Ubisoft has confirmed that the newly announced Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity will be a part of this year's E3 event by the publisher, as will The Division, The Crew, and others like Valiant Hearts: The Great War.

They'll showcase the "latest rich, immersive experiences" in the works from their in-house teams. CEO Yves Guillemot confident they have 'something for everyone' this year.

An alleged insider to Ubisoft Massive's development of Tom Clancy's The Division is not convinced it will make the current autumn 2015 release window, as they "don't have a functioning game" at this stage.

In fact they're having "massive problems" with the multiplayer side of things. The original 2014 date announced by Ubisoft was a 'punch in the face' to the studio, they continued.

There'll be no post-outbreak survival in New York City this year as Tom Clancy's The Division has been pushed into 2015 by Ubisoft. The three studios "don't want to compromise on quality" by releasing this year.

It's another multi-studio effort but just by three developers this time with Ubisoft Massive leading. Ubisoft Reflections and Red Storm Entertainment are lending their expertise.

Swedish developer Massive Entertainment is developing Tom Clancy's The Division, but last fall they begun looking for other Ubisoft studios to lend them a hand. They turned to North Carolina-based Red Storm.

That was the original studio that brought us Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, and even employed Tom Clancy. Red Storm is behind The Division's "authentic arsenal" of weapons.

Work on the Snowdrop Engine over at Ubisoft Massive in Sweden began "very early on, like, around five years ago," reveals brand art director Rodrigo Cortes. It was "coupled" with The Division almost immediately.

Massive wanted a AAA game competing with the best but "while having a reasonably-sized studio" work on it, and so Snowdrop was started. It's about 'all the little things' for immersion.
