Over 7,000 backers have pledged over $368k to Full Control's Jagged Alliance: Flashback on Kickstarter, taking the project over the needed $350k mark. The studio is "so grateful" for all those who pledged.

They'll begin a Slacker Backer initiative so that there's still time to earn some of those stretch goals from the Kickstarter campaign, which will run for 2-3 months, for current and new backers.

Atari has announced that it will be auctioning off its assets to recoup losses, which will include such titles as the Rollercoaster Tycoon IP and Total Annihilation. However, Atari won't be auctioning one property that many gamers have hungered for: Master of Magic.

Maxis has released the 4.0 update for SimCity, and one of the additions included in the patch is a special park that only early adopters will receive. Other fixes include an improvement of emergency response time and the Edgewater Bay region.

Kalypso Media has announced that a free gameplay update will be coming to the PC version of its mob sim Omerta: City of Gangsters tomorrow, the 23rd May. The update will install automatically when players boot the game.

Wargame developer Slitherine, best known for such titles as Panzer Corps and Napoleon's Campaigns has announced an agreement with Games Workshop to develop a wargame based on the Warhammer 40,000 license, Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon.

Focus Home date Wargame: AirLand Battle's release May 31st. They also tease the Dynamic Campaign at the heart of the strategy game, which is a follow-up to European Escalation.

Battle groups are dispatched via a theatre map, where you can jump in for real-time conflict. Units are "persistent all along the campaign" and yes, the campaign supports multiplayer.

The Kickstarter crowdfunding drive for Defense Grid 2 failed to meet the $1M stretch goal to debut the sequel; it made just enough for Hidden Path Entertainment to get some new content for the original Defense Grid.

Relic has announced the Red Star Edition of Company of Heroes 2, which among other bonuses will include the original Company of Heroes with both the Tales of Valor and Opposing Fronts expansions.
