Who said that artists steal? Whoever it was probably wasn't talking about Activision, who's pretty close to stealing Harmonix' idea for making a band game out of the Guitar Hero-styled play. Which is interesting, because it still is Guitar Hero. Hint hint.

Or specifically, that 72% played a game. Played a game? Well now, that means 72% of people are just so lucky, aren't they? No, really, we know that it's anyone who's had an internet connection has played an internet game, whether they know it or not. Then again, if 72% know it, that means over 200 million Americans admit to having played some videogame in one way or another.

It all appears to be kicking off at Sierra, one of the publishing labels of Vivendi Games'. It's all down to unrest in the company that all of its titles will have to be pitched to the head honcho's at Activision (and obviously they don't like that!).

| Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles makes headway, shoots into million homes | |
| Posted: 04.03.2008 10:31 by | Comments: 2 |
That's right, Capcom's favorite franchise of zombie killing, corporation hating and playing as some sort of policing unit has another hit. While it isn't remarkable that it happened on the Wii, with it being still hard to find after almost a year and a half after release, but that it happened with a rail shooter that was rated M or 17+. It is one of the few rail shooters on the console and there are surely enough adults, and children posing as adults or simply buying it online using their parent's credit cards to sell a million copies of the game. It landed a respectable 76/100 average from Metacritic, and it is generally a fun title to play with a friend. So why not. Give Capcom a hand for a job well done. Now get done with the Resident Evil 5 so we can snatch up a few million.

Under the terms of the company’s acquisition in 2006, Viacom apparently offered an additional incentive which would see them get extra cash dependent upon the success of Rock Band. Still this might not be the end with a final offer being made in 2009 once Rock Bands performance through the rest of 2008 is tallied.

A free to play card based RPG that works inside the browser window, NGB say it’s also able to run through the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 with a PSP version coming soon this March.
They plan to update the game with new content and battle cards including a new story mode with further updates expected monthly until the end of the year. Unlikely to have other titles quaking in their boots any time soon but at least it’s free I guess.

Mastiff Games brings us a face stuffin frenzy, all in a bid to out-chomp your opponents. Major League Eaters: The Game will be available through WiiWare in the US in May; with no European date set for the homebrew initiative only American gamers will get to plug their yaps, virtually of course.
Belching and mustard gas (I assume the non-lethal, non-DNA damaging kind) are to be the new time honoured distractions to be used in slowing your competitors down.
