This is ironically the lowest score for Mario Galaxy out of all magazines/websites according to Gamerankings:

I think it deserved at least a 9 and I'm not surprised that now the game is the 2nd best title after orginally being the best game ever as the reviews would have it.
Not saying the review is poor, but I think there was an overemphasis on multiplayer/camera which effectively isn't a problem with Mario, and the d-pad does indeed control the camera.
