Aliens: Colonial Marines Delayed, set for Autumn 2012

Previously-announced for spring 2012, It seems that SEGA has decided to delay Aliens: Colonial Marines for an autumn 2012 release.

The game's official website lists the change, although SEGA hasn't confirmed this with us yet. We've sent them a message to see if it's ready to confirm anything.

Gearbox Software's Aliens: Colonial Marines is getting the Collector's Edition treatment thanks to a leaked shot teasing the packaged goods for the long awaited sci-fi shooter.

It seems there'll be 3 exclusive in-game multiplayer weapons, a new game mode, a dossier and a resin display model to bog at. Aliens: Colonial Marines is due this spring.

Gearbox Software's shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines for SEGA appears to have outsourced some of its project to Section 8 developer TimeGate Studios.

This has been hinted at before but Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford wouldn't reveal specifics. A job ad for TimeGate mentioned level design and the user interface.

Sega has posted an 11 and a half minute gameplay demo from their E3 2011 presentation of Aliens: Colonial Marines earlier this year.

The most striking part of the first person shooter is the complete lack of a HUD, giving a more visceral, immersive experience, making the xenomorph attacks that much more frightening.

In the same October 2011 Official Xbox Magazine rumor section that stated Fable IV would purportedly be coming to the Xbox 360 in 2013, also suggests that Gearbox will be rebooting Duke Nukem after development of Aliens: Colonial Marines is wrapped.
